Tom thanks for this photo. I looked for the "homestead" several years back while on a biz trip to Ireland but couldn't find it. I did tour the castle of Red Hugh O'Donnell, the warrior king. It was very cool to think we are descendants of his. Also walked through a cemetery in Donegal Town in which 90% of the tombstones were marked for an O'Donnell. That felt weird, indeed. Most of the businesses, too, were owned by O'Donnells. While trying to find the homestead I knocked on the door of what turned out to be a lonely older couple who invited me in to sit by the peat fire and have a cup of tea. I ended up spending most of the day shooting the breeze with them and going for a walk. It was an unusual way to enjoy a lovely afternoon for all of us. Imagine doing that anywhere but Ireland!
